Subject: Volleyball Membership info!!

With the upcoming tournament, I wanted to remind people to get into the usav website and update your membership information or it will cost you a microbrew or two domestics. If you entered your info last year, your info will still be in the system…you just need to sign up for the 2008-09 season.

The site does have some things that still need fixing. For example, the site shows that our rates were increased from $32 to $35 or $40. This is not true. Yankee has increased its rates to $35 if you sign up online, but MSVBA indicated that it had no intentions to increase its rates this year, so contrary to the website, we’re still at $32 as long as you register online. As for the $40 rate by Yankee, both MSVBA and Yankee members will incur a $5 charge if they do not register online, so when you show up for a tournament, be sure you have registered online. If not, your membership fee will be $37 (not the $40 that Yankee charges, but still a $5 charge over the $32). The online membership takes no more than a few minutes, so get on there.

Also, our day fee rate is incorrect on the website. We’ve held out for 3 years when Yankee moved to a $15 day fee, but this year, we have had to follow suit. Day fee costs are $15, not the $10 as is on the website. Contrary to Yankee, we will still honor a 1-time day fee to go towards your annual membership of $32/$37.

Below are the directions for online. For those of you that never entered your info, take this road. For those of you that did enter your info last year, scroll down to #9 at the bottom…

Also different from last year, checks are made payable to MSVBA, not NERVA. This will help with our processing.

ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS

The On-line registration system is now open for the 2008-2009 membership. It is not a perfect system, so as you find errors, keep them to yourselves, because I don’t want to hear about it (just kidding…let me know).

A very small number of you may already be in the system from a previous year, but most of you will need to start from scratch. It shouldn’t take long, but please follow the instructions to help you navigate through the systems. If you are already in the system, please verify your information, because much of it is incorrect.

1. Go to the web address below:

a. https://webpoint.usavolleyball.org/wp/memberships/join.asp?mbr_ChapterID=25971

2. Fill out all fields marked with an * (required fields) and any others you want.

a. For playing level, select “R”, which means “region assigned”

b. Click “Continue”

3. The next page is the membership option page.

a. For Club Affiliation, select “UNDECIDED”

b. If you intend to play in mostly MSVBA tournaments, select ‘Adult – Maine State’. This membership fee allows you to compete in all MSVBA tournaments from September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2009.

i. Cost is still $32.00

ii. You will still be able to participate in Yankee tournaments…this just helps NERVA determine if your Waiver form and $ is coming through MSVBA or through Yankee.

c. If you intend to sign up for only a one-event membership, put the date of the event in the box.

d. Select “Roles” you will be serving in. Choose all that apply.

i. Select adult roles only, unless you are going to be a JO coach! Junior roles may require background screening authorization and a fee (this can be done at a later time).

e. You can opt out of any correspondence items (sorry…not my stuff!)

f. Click “Continue”

4. The next page is a summary to check if the information is correct. If something needs to be corrected, use the back button in the browser.

5. At the bottom of the page, there are 3 boxes to check. You need to review the waiver and the code of conduct. Print out the waiver, sign it, and turn it in with your $!

a. This will ask for your license id but type in whatever # you want. This is only a test for accepting electronic signatures and payments in the future.

b. Click “Submit”

6. The next page will state “Your Membership Application has been successfully submitted”. Please note your User Name and Password information.

7. You will receive a confirmation email from usav_Admin@ai-group.com

a. PRINT THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL

b. Sign the waiver on the confirmation email

c. If you are new to MSVBA, have not played in MSVBA tournaments within the last two years, or wish to upgrade your rating, indicate your player rating (C-, C, C+, B-, B, B+) next to your name on the waiver signature line.

d. TURN IN YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL/WAIVER, ALONG WITH MEMBERSHIP $ (checks payable to MSVBA), AT THE CHECK-IN DESK AT THE NEXT MSVBA TOURNAMENT OR

e. Mail the confirmation email/waiver and a check (payable to MSVBA) to Mark Champagne, MSVBA, 653 Chadbourne Road, Standish, Maine 04084

8. Once your waiver and $ has been processed through NERVA, you will receive an “Application Confirmation” email that will include your membership number.

9. To update any of your personal information later(which includes a lot of stuff we won’t be using for a while) OR TO UPDATE YOUR MENBERSHIP FROM A PREVIOUS YEAR, you can log into:

a. https://webpoint.usavolleyball.org/wp15/IntraLock/Login.asp

b. Click on “My Information”

c. You will be asked for your login and password. If you don’t recall, click on ‘forgot password’. If you have trouble logging on, please let me know (and don’t wait until Friday night!)

d. Reminder that your playing level is ‘R’ for Region assigned, and if you are not associated with a specific club, put ‘UNDECIDED’ for a club name.

e. Review and click on the liability waiver and code of conduct, and bring a signed copy of the waiver to the tournament with you.

f. Fill in 9999 for a driver license. This is for future capabilities.

f. $ will be accepted at the tournament along with the liability waiver, payable to MSVBA.

If you have any questions that I might be able to help with, please let me know. Thanks!

If anyone else got confused on step 9: "b" and "c" should be switched and "b" should read "Click on 'Renew Online'"
